The Circus Museum

At The Circus Museum you are introduced to the marvelous circus world with the bearded lady and the graceful circus princess and you can train to become a circus star yourself.

Ladies and gentlemen
Props and costumes are assembled to tell you the story about the people, animals and artists who have shaped the circus history in Denmark and entertained young and old. In the exhibition, you can also challenge each other through a variety of activities and find out who is best suited for life in the circus.

Circus Activities
Try out the life of a circus artist. Every first Sunday of each month you can come to a circus workshop in fencing hall, Fægtehallen. The room is equipment with circus props like a trapeze, rope, line and everything your heart desires. It is a place for great fun and successful experiences, where children and grownups goof around balancing the rope, juggle or overcome the fear of the trapeze. The instructors at the workshop are all professional artists, so you are completely safe.

Circus Performances
The Circus Museum shows you the vibrant world of artistry. In winter and autumn holidays and on selected days during the year, you can experience circus performances at the museum. A large number of the biggest artists in Denmark have visited the museum including Benny Schumann, who started as a child star in Circus Schumann. Keep an eye on the museum's event calendar to see when the next performance takes place.
